We just sent out the final batch of our yearly Tone wrapping paper. This year’s wrap was inspired by the theme of growth – representing our growth in mindset, growth in thinking, and growth in skills in 2023.
This year’s design is a celebration of nature and colour, and a true collaboration between many of our team. The final design was crafted and refined by Emma, who says, “There is a lot of me in this wrap. My superpower as a designer is that I am very emotionally driven, so I worked with the design until it felt good to me and started to make sense… and the colours started to work with each other and feel balanced. I just really freed myself and loosened up my mark making.”

INITIAL PROTOTYPE
I love the annual tradition of creating the Tone wrap. The wrap gets better each year, and as a creative exercise, it’s so important for our team to get together and collaborate on a project that is so joyful and pure. It’s an opportunity to play and explore our craft, and the experiments and ideas we generate inevitably weave their way into our work over the coming year.
FINAL WRAP
This year, we took our design experimentation a step further, creating an animated version of the wrapping paper. This captivating video was crafted by Lucia, who wanted it to feel like you’re moving through a living, thriving forest. The result captures the spirit and movement of the 2D pattern.
