Lifeline Australia Christmas appeal
The holiday season can be an especially difficult time for many people. Existing mental health can worsen, and new wellbeing concerns can surface.
Factors like financial stress, grief, strained relationships and changes in routine can contribute. It can be difficult to connect with others at this time of year. And people don’t want to feel that they’re burdening their loved ones.
But Lifeline needs to be there for people during the holiday season, so they have somewhere to share their burdens.
Our concept for this campaign came from our case study Michael. He spoke about Lifeline ‘planting a seed’ in his life.
Because no matter when, why, or how people reach out, every interaction with Lifeline is a powerful little seed of connection. And while not every interaction changes lives and not every seed grows, every connection is a precious opportunity. An opportunity for perspectives to shift and hope to spark. Sometimes, people need to reach out again, and again, and again. And to do that, those seeds must be planted.
This campaign asked donors to help make sure Lifeline can be there for everyone who needs them. Offering seeds of safety, support and connection during the holiday season.

A lot was planted with one seed from Lifeline.... As I began to talk with them, I remember thinking, ‘Maybe I’m not in as bad a place as I thought I was’. So that helped me start to shift my perspective, which was a huge step for me.
