Hi, I’m Jen

CREATIVE LEAD
When you talk to Jen about design, she’s quick to point out that – at its core – design is problem solving. For Jen, good design is about human connection. She’s happiest when a design doesn’t just look good – but is useful, resonates and connects with people.
Jen joined Tone in 2024 after almost 20 years working on award-winning design projects for brands like the Sydney Opera House. The jobs that resonated most were always in the for-purpose space – child mental health, cancer and the arts. Jen counts her dad – a man who really cared – as the inspiration that drives her. Losing him to cancer prompted “a big life reset”, which eventually led her to Tone.
An Ideas Woman, Jen loves Tone’s focus on chasing strong concepts. She says Tone “gives a lot of space to ideate” which “creates the ability to go outside of the box for solutions”. Jen seeks to use design to lift others up.
She believes that good design takes courage – and that it’s courageous to bring something unexpected to the table. She sees her role not just as coming up with bold ideas, but justifying them with care. Jen loves to show our clients why a creative direction answers their problem.
“Whether you know it or not, you interact with design on a daily basis. Good design sticks with you without you even knowing. Good design can move people... It can create emotion. It can make people want to do something.”
“It's not easy to be a courageous designer. You need a bit of fire in your belly.”

“I like how we work to help people at Tone – to make other people’s lives better. Our clients are in it because they care. They want to make a difference. And I want to help them to achieve that goal. We’re not just helping people in distant places; we’re also helping each other and our clients. Because we all care.”
