A deep thinker and meticulous planner, Bo deliberately set out to gain diverse experience and broad design skills in the early stages of her career, taking varied roles in print management and advertising. She found this work “interesting but soulless” and longed to do something more satisfying.
Eleven years ago, Bo realised she was finally able to follow her heart: “I’d collected enough experience to be good at what I do. It was time to choose what I wanted to do. I saw this ad for a job where I could design exclusively for not-for-profits, using my design skills for good. And that was it. Ever since then, I’ve known this is my calling.”
Bo thrives on the unique challenges of fundraising design, believing that the more parameters and constraints there are, the more creative and courageous you have to be:
“It’s curiosity that opens the doors for possibility, so we spend a lot of time thinking and exploring at the start of each project. We take real pride in finding authentic ways to honour the essence of each story we tell, because these are real people, sharing their stories for a reason – and often, lives are at stake.”
