Sam’s grandpa always said, “Curiosity is the most important quality to hold onto in life”. Bubbly and outgoing, she lives by that maxim at home and at work – leaping at each new challenge with courage and flair, always ready to try, learn, and grow.

Having practised psychology before embarking on her design career, Sam brings to her work not just creativity, but also compassion, empathy, and a deep understanding of how to communicate effectively.

Like so many members of Tone’s team, she deliberately set out to find “work that was good for the world”:

“I’ve always wanted to do good, and my careers advisor suggested I reach out to companies that I felt I aligned with. I found Tone and it immediately clicked. We all have different backgrounds but we’re all quite similar in a way, and I think that’s because of what we care about.”

As a junior designer, Sam is excited by every opportunity to learn:

“I’m just starting out, so they’re giving me the chance to explore a little bit of everything – print, digital, illustrations, branding. I love being able to work across a wide range of projects and channels and collaborate with all the different designers on our team. It’s great having the chance to play and push boundaries, to discover what’s possible – always knowing they’ve got my back.”

“We all want to feel our life is meaningful, to be able to look back and see the impact we made and the people we helped. I think one of the most meaningful things we can do is build connections between people, and design can do that – it’s like a little seed of understanding you plant in people’s minds.”
